Kenneth Bear

Agriculture Development Manager

Kenneth Bear was born and raised on Ochapowace First Nation, and attended the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (now the First Nations University of Canada). He then transferred to the College of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, with a specialization in Crops, in May of 2000.

Over the last several years of his career, Ken has held various roles with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), and Ochapowace First Nation, and currently works with Pasqua First Nation as Agriculture Development Manager. Ken sits on the National Policy Advisory Committee for Business Risk Management Programs for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, as well as the Canadian Agriculture Human Resource Council. He is currently President of the National Indigenous Agriculture Association – a federally incorporated non-profit organization, is a Registered Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists since 2001, and is an on-reserve grain and oilseed farmer.
